It is important to note the following:

1. DiscusWare does not develop or distribute MySQL (or any other database software). This is a third-party product. As such, all use of MySQL is governed by their licensing agreements, and all support of MySQL must be obtained through their means.

2. Both Discus and Discus Pro will function properly even if you do not use the MySQL functionality. Discus and Discus Pro can store their data in flat text files. While the use of MySQL will provide greater reliability and speed, you can still use DiscusWare's discussion products even without MySQL.
