It's 90+ degrees outside and you're thinking about going out and playing a round of golf or a game of tennis with your best friend. Don't forget the sunscreen, drink plenty of fluids, take an occasional break and watch out for heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Here's a great little calculator to help you determine weather (sorry) or not the heat index in your area is too much for you too participate. Just type in the temp and the humidity.

If it's too hot don't cancel your plans just try something a little different like swimming. To check out the CDC's tips on water safety click here. There are also links at the bottom of the page with more tips. The American Red Cross also has a great site on Water safety with safety tips on everything from boating to water skiing

Not sure which sunscreen is the right one or how and when to use it properly or even why you should use it? Check out the American Academy of Dermatology for everything you always wanted to know about it.

 Welcome Back

Hello. Summer's here, well almost. By the time this newsletter comes out most of you will be getting ready for the end of school and a well deserved break. Summertime, time for the beach, pool, yard work, fishing, and camping. It's the time for bugs and other critters that bite, sting and can otherwise make life miserable. It's also time for sunburn and heat stroke for those who aren't careful.
For this article we are going to look at some summer safety and rules for the road to help make it more pleasurable for you and your students.

We would like your input, so please feel free to email any of the section editors below to share comments, internet sites, ideas or more with us and the other professionals around the globe! Thanks.
