Basketball Mania

Here is a neat web site that lets your upper elementary students learn about basketball. They can read about the game's history, learn some fundamentals and take a trivia quiz right on-line!

Hockey 101

This site will explain to you and your students the basics of hockey. Learn about the game including the rink, rules, positions, officials and the lingo of the game.

History of Bowling

Check this link out for a history of bowling. There are some interesting facts here for you and your students if you teach bowling.

The Olympic Journey

This Thinkquest page includes information about the Olympic games, including a good page about the Olympic symbols. The Ancient Olympics; Olympic History; Sydney 2000; Anthens 2004; Paralympics and more.

The Fruit Pages

This site provides information about the benefits of eating fruit as well as specific information about many different types of fruit.

Smokey Bear

Bushfires, Fire Prevention, Forests, Camping safety. Play an interactive multiple choice quiz about preventing forest fires. Another game is with jumbled words about building a safe camp fire. Smokey Bear is a US Forest Service character but the information is universal. This site would appeal to younger children.
