In the News Thought
I would just share with you some exciting things happening in our program.
In a matter of about 48 hours: Time Magazine called and interviewed me
for over an hour. They decided to send our a reporter. She visited our
program for about three hours. Shortly after Time Magazine left, I received
a phone call from the Chicago Tribune. They wanted to interview me for
a syndicated column called "KID NEWS". I then received an email from Newsweek.
I called an it was a National PBS TV Network based in California. They
wanted to fly in and film our physical education classes. That same day
I received a phone call from the Washington DC International Business
Service. A lady interviewed me about a story she was doing for a Japanese
TV Network. The program was about the stress levels of the children in
Japan. We discussed how exercise can help control the stress. To top off
the day, I received an email from the George Lucas (Star Wars) Educational
Foundation. They want to interview me next week about our physical education
program. So Tuesday of this week , we had Time Magazine, PBS National
News and the Chicago Tribune all at our school at the same time. This
was great exposure for our school but it was also great exposure for all
physical education teachers nation wide. For more information, contact: Phil Lawler ; plaw@uss.net Madison Junior High Naperville, Illinois ************************************ (Information provided courtesy of www.pelinks4u.org)
