From Paula Kun, AAHPERD Walk4Life, Inc. a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality pedometers for educational institutions, has designated the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia and Wisconsin as the eligible recipients of its 2005-2006 Title 1 Grant Program. The program provides qualified Title 1 schools in eligible states a "buy one, get one free" offer on the purchase of its pedometer "PA Packs." This complete teacher's resource kit makes it easier to implement and use pedometers in the PE class. Each PA Pack can include 15, 24 or 30 pedometers in a durable storage case, loss prevention straps, incentive tokens, mileage tracking cards, award certificates, 67 lesson plans and additional teaching aids. The purchased PA Pack can be customized with the school name. The "free" PA Pack will have the Walk4Life label. The Walk4Life Title 1 program is designed to help Title 1 schools maximize their budget dollars and is an easy way to begin a pedometer based curriculum. One school may receive two kits for the price of one or two schools can benefit by splitting the cost and get on PE Pack for each school. The grant is effective April 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006 and is open to any eligible Title 1 school in the designated states.
