Adventure Education/Pedagogy Position
Position:
The Department of Health and Exercise Science of Rowan University is conducting a formal search for a dynamic and qualified individual for an Assistant Professor, full-time, tenure track position (contingent upon budget appropriations). The candidate would be invited to become part of an energetic faculty which works collaboratively on progressive program development.
Description:
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Adventure Activities (which incorporates our indoor climbing facility) and Physical Education Pedagogy classes. Responsibilities may include teaching Health and Wellness courses, methods courses in Individual and Dual Sports or Team Sports and supervising student teachers and practicum students,.
Qualifications:
An earned doctorate from an accredited institution of higher education in Physical Education or related field by September 1, 2006 is required and full-time (K-12) school teaching experience is highly desirable.

General Information:
Rowan’s Department of Health and Exercise Science is part of the College of Education and has approximately 500 students enrolled in its three undergraduate specializations with 17 fulltime faculty and staff. The specializations include Teacher Certification in Health and Physical Education, Athletic Training and Health Promotion/Fitness Management. Starting in the Spring of 2006, the department will be housed in the new Education Building and will have state-of-the-art teaching, research and office space.
