Polk County Schools are located in Central Florida equidistant from Tampa and Orlando. The major city is Lakeland, the spring home of "your Detroit Tigers".
Great place to live and work.
I expect several openings for the 2007-2008 school year. There are many long time teachers retiring, new schools being constructed and of course the usual change of station openings.
