Adapted - How do you differentiate instruction for all the diverse students in a class? There are some that have outstanding skills, others that have little or no skill, and others with disabilities. I don't want the students with disabilities to stand out. What are some activities the whole class can do, or how can instruction be differentiated? Please answer in the forum.
Coaching - A lot of universities and other recreations have plenty of good club teams. The problem with club teams are they do not always have a set head person. Does anyone have any suggestions on letting students run a team, when they are also athletes on that same team? It just does not seem to me like practices and things would run as smoothly.   Elementary - Where do you draw the line with relationships with elementary students? Elementary children tend to be loving and affectionate, and they take that behavior and continue it at school. How can you stop that affectionate behavior, and students wanting to be your friend, appropriately? I want to be able to be a great teacher, and a teacher that makes differences in my student’s lives. Please share in the forum.
Health, Fitness & Nutrition -I know that when starting a new work out routine, it can be hard to do because most people want results right away, and it is not that easy. As future physical educators, we are going to have overweight children in our classes. We can tell them how important it is to be physically active and how it will make them healthier, but unless they see results right away, they might get discouraged. What do you think would be a good way to go about handling the discouragement that could potentially face many overweight students? Please share in the forum.
Interdisciplinary - PE is just as important as any other class in our school system. If you do not learn to be physically fit and eat right, the day will come where you die sooner than later. When that time comes you will not need proper english, because you will not be able to speak anyway. So I feel that PE is just as valuable as any other subject. Please share.
Secondary - I have been observing classes in secondary PE and my teacher only uses captains to pick the teams in gym class. The same girls and guys are picked first every time and the same students are left waiting on the line, begging for their name to be called. I am not sure how you guys feel? Not only does this seem old fashioned, but I believe there are several other ways of choosing teams without causing embarrassment to almost half the class. What are your ways or ideas of avoiding this in class? Please share in the forum.
Technology - I just finished my field day with barely enough volunteers to make it run smoothly. Our system (kids bringing volunteer request forms) clearly does not work very well. Does anyone have a better system, or a better way to ensure plenty of help for field day? Please share in the forum.
