Adapted - As a student training to be a Physical Education teacher, you cannot qualify as a teacher if you are not in good physcial condition. We accomodate students with various disablities in our PE classes by modifying activities, and rightly so. I am interested in opinions regarding teaching with a disability (e.g. if the teacher suffers an injury that affects him/her long term)? Does this mean that we are no longer eligible to teach PE? Do you think this is a form of discimination? Please post in the forum.
Coaching - Do you feel it is better to be a command style coach or a cooperative style coach? Command, meaning the coach makes all decisions and cooperative meaning the decision making is shared between both the athlete and the coach. Why do you feel this way? Please post in the forum.
Elementary - How do you get the student who is a wallflower to participate in gym class? (Everybody has had at least one student in PE who will refuse to participate). What are some good activities that gets all students to participate? Please post in the forum.
Health, Fitness & Nutrition - I am looking for info on active stretching. The department is looking to change our stretching routine to active but having a hard time finding info. Please share in the forum.
Interdisciplinary - Does anyone have examples of ways they have connected with classroom teachers to share information about the importance of maintaining a healthy heart? Please post in the forum.
Secondary - Since this question is quite long, the linked title will be displayed. Please go to the forum to read the question: Ideas for limited facility, Project Adventure.
Technology - Virtual reality is expected to have a huge impact on Physical Education. I was wondering if any physical educators out there have had the opportunity to use virtual reality in their instruction. If so, what was it and do you feel that your students will benefit from using this type of technology? Please post in the forum.
