Secondary
- I just read the post people left about self-defense. Thats one
of the first things I've read anywhere involving both PE and self-defense.
When I was in school
I did nothing related to self defense. Now I'm a junior and
physical education major at Towson University. I have recently
been given the assignment of writing a unit plan on "Self-Defense"
for grades 3-5 (I know this is a forum for HS but I haven't
found much for anything). Obviously its my assignment, I should
do it myself, but I am right now sitting in my library which
includes no books on self defense that can be incorporated into
the classroom/gymnasium.
Since alot of you are teachers out
there, I was wondering if you had any experience teaching it,
and at least had some basic concepts to get me started. I have
tried to search the internet for things as well, and have not
found much AT ALL. I've even looked through sites with unit
and lesson plans, and they seem to have EVERYTHING but self-defense.
I'm running out of options (and time) and didn't know what else
to do. Any kind of feedback or places to look for information
from anyone would be extremely helpful, thanks. Please share
in the forum.
