Adapted - How do you differentiate instruction for all the diverse students in a class? There are some that have outstanding skills, others that have little or no skill, and others with disabilities. I don't want the students with disabilities to stand out. What are some activities the whole class can do, or how can instruction be differentiated? Please post in the forum.
Coaching - I have coached before at the youth level for baseball. I have coached 8-12 year olds and I have also coached 16-18 year olds. At what point or age group do you think is appropriate for the skill level to be a factor in the playing time of an athlete instead of playing everyone as much as possible or as equally as possible? Please post in the forum.
Elementary - I teach K-3rd grade, and would like to create an informative newsletter at my school. Any advise and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and seeing one of your recent newsletters would be very helpful. Please post in the forum.
Health, Fitness & Nutrition - I am trying to convince my principal and staff that utilizing food as a reward undermines the nutritional education that I teach in P.E. It encourages the over-consumption of foods high in added sugar and fat, connects food to emotion, and reinforces unhealthful eating habits. I'm curious if anyone can help, as my effort is being met with much resistance. Any success stories out there? Please share in the forum.
Interdisciplinary - Does anyone have examples of ways they have connected with classroom teachers to share information about the importance of maintaining a healthy heart? Please post in the forum.
Secondary - A member on my department is interested in starting a PE class designed for athletes that works on conditioning, strength training, and agility training. He is the boys basketball coach and thinks that our PE classes are not beneficial for the athletes. I have my opinion, but would like to hear what others think. Please share your thoughts both pro and con for a class of this nature. Please post in the forum.
Technology - Virtual reality is expected to have a huge impact on Physical Education. I was wondering if any physical educators out there have had the opportunity to use virtual reality in their instruction. If so, what was it and do you feel that your students will benefit from using this type of technology? Please post in the forum.
