Adapted -I am a college student pursuing a degree in Health and Physical Education. When working with Special Ed students is it better to mainstream them, or to have a separate class working only with the Special Ed students? Please post in the forum.
Coaching - I have had both types of coaches. My basketball coach for 9th & 10th grade was "Bobby Knight" style coach and we went to the state championship game twice in three years. He was not always liked by fans or parents, but he put W's on the board and he was able to get players to play for him. Then he retired, and we had the kind of coach that was everyone's friend. Needless to say, he was much less successful. I want to know others thoughts. Please post in the forum.
Elementary -Hi everyone, I just learned about Dodgeball being on a list of the hall of shame. I was wondering if any teachers still teach this to their students? Personally I loved this game when I was in elementary school, however I do understand the negative to it being dangerous. Please post in the forum.
Health, Fitness & Nutrition -What type of cardio exercises either warm-ups or lessons would be a fun but effective way to get the entire class involved, but also a good work-out. Please share in the forum.
Interdisciplinary -Do you believe that physical educators should spend class time trying to integrate academic content into their lessons or should they focus on teaching skills and developing health-related fitness? Please post in the forum.
Secondary -Our district is examining the use of "legal" performancing substances (both with and w/o hormone enhancements) and looking for policies/procedures others are using to combat the issue. Does anyone have thoughts? Please post in the forum.
Technology - I was wondering if anyone is using devices like EyeToy or Xavix in their PE classes? Do you think using these types of devices in PE would benefit the students? Do you think students would enjoy using these devices in class to add some variety into PE class? Please post in the forum.
