As a new and soon to be parent for the second
time, I have begun to examine things from a different perspective.
I now ask myself questions like: what kind of experience will my
child(ren) have in physical education? Will Physical Education
be required daily? Will my child receive a QUALITY physical
education experience or simply a time filler designed for other
teachers to have prep time? With these and many other
questions in mind, I must say that I am thrilled with changes that
have been and are currently taking place nationwide in Physical
Education. These changes include everything from funding for
improving Physical Education to Physical Educators working to find
ways to make improvements possible in their programs.
At the origin of each of these changes there is a catalyst. That catalyst is a professional that cares
about children and education. So, thanks to all of those
who are acting as catalysts who are attempting to make a difference.
In this issue, you will read a collection of information from individuals
who are also acting as catalysts in our field.
