UNIFORMS IN PE: Do you think all P.E. classes should be required to have a dress code policy with every student wearing the same thing, like wearing their school colors? Please share in the forum. |
FITNESSGRAM - IS IT WORTH IT?: I've read a few posts from teachers who use it. But what I haven't heard yet is how good it is. What gains and/or benefits have you and your students realized? It sounds like it would be a great tool, but is it worth the price? Also, what version do you use? Stand alone or network? Please share in the forum. |
GOOD JUMPROPE MUSIC: Just wondering if anyone has a good playlist of upbeat music to jumprope to. I'm ordering the "Jump In" soundtrack, but hoping to get some other new tunes before we do our Jump Rope For Heart next month. Thanks so much! Please share in the forum. |
HOW TO MAKE YOURSELF STANDOUT FOR A JOB: Any pointers of useful infomation to help me get hired in the future? What will help me get hired and stand out over other candidates? Please share in the forum. |
WRESTLING AND CUTTING WEIGHT: It is almost a well-known fact that wrestlers are known for fasting for days to make weight for weigh-ins. I know, from experience however, that this is a very counter-productive method of losing weight. I know that it is better to eat a slightly smaller amount of calories per day than you burn per day over the course of approximately five meals. Knowing this, I have two questions. Are there quicker ways than others to find how many calories a person may burn in a day for someone who is not used to counting calories? Second, any advice on how to convince the wrestlers that fasting is not near as efficient as eating the correct number of calories? Most wrestlers that I deal with are convinced that fasting is the best way. Please share in the forum. |
TECHNOLOGY - HELPING OR HURTING?: I am doing research on whether or not social media is positive or negative towards p.e. or just physical activity in general. I would like any feedback on what everyone thinks. By social media, I mean that students are on facebook, myspace, and sites such as youtube all day instead of becoming active. As a future p.e. teacher, I think it is pertinant to understand this type of problem, if it actually is a problem. Obviously social media is somewhat helpful, due to the fact that I am using it as a resource right now. Any thoughts on this subject would be extremely helpful. Please share in the forum. |
