26 I+know+I+shouldn%27t+post+a+complaint+like+this%2c+but+I+have+to+get+this+off+my+chest%2e+For+the+past+five+years+I+have+been+blessed+with+a+PE+aide%2e+Of+course+I%27ve+gone+through+four+in+the+past+five+years%2e+The+noise%2c+the+number+of+kids%2c+being+on+the+feet+all+day+and+better+paying+jobs+have+taken+them+away%2e+This+year+I+was+unblessed%2e+The+aide+I+have+this+year+is+terrible%2e+From+day+one+she+tried+to+put+her+foot+down+with+the+kids+and+me%2c+doing+as+she+pleased+without+even+consulting+me+to+see+if+that+is+how+things+were+done+in+my+PE+class%2e+She+made+kids+run+laps+for+running+into+the+gym%2c+%28which+if+their+classroom+teacher+doesn%27t+mind+niether+do+I%2e+I+had+to+put+a+stop+to+that%2e+She+up+and+decide+she+could+haul+kids+to+the+office+without+telling+me+about+it%2e+I+had+to+put+a+stop+to+that%2e+She+would+interrupt+me+in+the+middle+of+giving+directions%2c%28Of+course+she+only+repeated+what+I+said%29%2e+I+have+tried+to+put+a+stop+to+that%2c+but+she+is+still+doing+it%2e+She+doesn%27t+like+the+fact+the+she+is+not+in+charge+and+has+to+do+things+my+way%2e+I%27ve+try+to+talk+to+her+about+the+way+things+need+to+be+done+and+are+to+be+done+in+my+class%2c+but+she+gets+mad%2c+defensive+and+upset%2e+Needless+to+say+my+year+has+not+been+that+enjoyable+with+her+in+the+gym%2e+I+know+I+should+talk+to+the+principal%2c+but+this+is+his+first+year+as+the+head+guy%2c+and+he+has+other%2c+more+pressing+problems+to+deal+with%2e+So%2c+I+am+just+trying+to+survive+the+next+four+months+of+school+and+get+the+situation+changed+over+the+summer%2e+Sorry+to+complain+like+this%2c+but+it+sure+does+help%2e+Any+of+you+who+have+a+great+aide+be+thankful+because+you+are+truely+blessed%2e+Those+of+you+who+don%27t%2e%2eyou+might+want+to+be+thankful+because+you+could+wind+up+with+an+aide+from+he%2a%2a+like+I+have%2e+I+will+not+have+an+aide+next+year+or+the+school+will+have+a+new+PE+teacher%2e+Again+sorry+about+this+posting%2e
27 Do+you+think+that+a+conference+with+a+higher+authority+would+help+settle+this+power+struggle%3f+This+is+something+that+if+left+unchecked%2c+can+really+cause+a+rift+between+you+and+your+students%2e+%0a%0a++++If+you+are+her+direct+supervisor%2c+then+you+can+formally+initialize+a+list+of+expectations+you+expect+from+her%2d%2d%2dWrite+everything+down%2e+Documentation+is+the+key%2e+The+classroom+is+the+last+place+you+want+a+power+struggle%2e+%0a%0a++++Maybe+she+just+doesn%27t+realize+how+much+of+a+witch+she+is+being%2e+%0a%0a++++Best+Wishes%2e
61 I+also+have+a+problem+with+Instructional+aids+that+come+to+PE+class+with+their+assigned+student%2e++This+student+is+often+has+a+behavior+disorder+and+is+mainstreamed+into+elective+classes%2e++The+problem+I+have+is+that+these+%26quot%3baids%26quot%3b+just+that+think+that+PE+time+is+their+break+time+so+they+just+want+to+sit+and+not+handle+any+problems+that+arrise%2e++This+is+very+frustrating+when+I+have+60+kids+in+my+class%2e++Of+course+I+have+spoken+to+them+about+this+but+there+have+been+no+significant+changes%2e
66 I+have+wrestled+with+the+inclusion+aide+situation+as+well%2e++This+is+the+first+year+that+we+are+considered+%26quot%3bfull+inclusion%26quot%3b%2e++There+are+four+classes+in+each+grade+that+are+assigned+a+room+aide+who+is+to+accompany+the+class+to+ALL+activities%2e+++It+has+been+MY+understanding+that+they+are+to+make+the+accommodations+for+the+students%2e++So+far+this+year%2c+I+have+NO+aides+in+the+third+and+fourth+grade+inclusion+rooms%2c+so+all+the+behavior+mod+is+GONE+when+they+come+in%2c+they+pair+up+with+students+that+are+%26quot%3bnot+allowed%26quot%3b+to+and+they+are+generally+in+a+deficit+as+far+as+learning+goes%2e++%0a%0aThe+zinger+is+that+the+aides+approach+me+and+kind+of+whine+and+ask+if+I+%26quot%3bneed%26quot%3b+them+today%2c+they+have+%26quot%3bstuff%26quot%3b+that+needs+to+be+done%2e++I+am+SO+exhausted+with+the+whole+bit%2e++We+are+always+being+tossed+the+same+bone%2c+because+PE+has+%26quot%3balways%26quot%3b+been+inclusion%2e++Sure%2c+I+agree%2c+but+a+few+here+and+there%2c+not+a+room+of+10%2b%2e%2e%2eyou+know+the+routine%21++%0a%0aHere+is+a+great+one%2e++I+was+teaching+a+cupstacking+unit+%28GREAT+ACTIVITY%29+and+the+inclusion+aide+was+READING+A+COOKBOOK%21%0a%0aKeep+on+keepin%27+on%2e
118 And+I+thought+I+was+the+only+one+with+the+whining%2c+apathetic+aide+for+inclusion%2e++I+have+had+several+during+the+years%2c+mostly+because+they+really+don%27t+want+to+do+anything+at+all%2c+but+want+to+get+paid%2e++They+usually+go+back+to+being+a+full%2dtime+homemaker%2e++There+are+some+children+that+just+do+not+need+to+be+involved+with+inclusion%2e++Even+with+an+aide%2c+they+usually+act+helpless+and+you+end+up+going+over+and+sacrificing+your+time+with+your+class+to+do+the+job+the+aide+was+supposed+to+be+doing+in+the+first+place%2e++I+had+rather+the+children+that+are+so+severe+be+exempted+from+P%2eE%2e+and+have+the+aide+go+with+them+during+their+daily+recess+where+they+are+free+to+do+what+they+wish+to+do+or+be+with+whomever+and+they+are+not+interrupting+a+class%2e++I+have+alot+of+compassion+for+my+severely+handicapped+children%2e+I+love+them+dearly%2c+but+it+also+hurts+me+to+know+that+because+their+mental+capacity+is+the+same+as+the+others%2c+that+they+probably+feel+frustrated+and+embarrassed+when+I+have+to+go+to+them+and+have+the+other+kids+waiting+to+move+on%2e++It%27s+sort+of+a+catch+22+situation%2e
