151 The+time+for+physical+education+is+already+very+limited+with+PE+teachers+seeing+their+students+maybe+once+a+week%2e+Here+in+Hawai%60i%2c+some+PE+teachers+see+their+students+once+every+2+weeks%2e+To+also+teach+other+subjects+like+math%2c+science+and+topics+in+language+arts+would+be+difficult%2e+However%2c+to+reinforce+concepts+learned+in+those+subjects+would+not+take+that+much+more+effort%2e+We+use+numbers+a+lot+in+PE%2c+could+we+not+also+count+in+different+languages%2c+use+letters+instead+or+some+other+variation%3f+Movement+activities+could+have+students+form+their+bodies+into+different+letter+shapes+and+talk+about+what+kind+of+pathways+are+in+those+letters%2e+We+can+reinforce+so+much+of+what+kids+learn+in+the+classroom%2e+Crossing+the+states%2c+where+steps+%28using+step+counters%29+could+be+equated+to+distances+from+state+to+state%2e+On+the+other+hand%2c+it+wouldn%27t+hurt+classroom+teachers+to+provide+movement+opportunities+in+class+with+concepts+the+kids+are+learning%2e+With+so+few+PE+teachers+in+schools%2c+and+with+the+importance+of+movement+to+learning%2c+so+much+more+movement+can+be+planned%2e+I%27ve+heard+about+a+classroom+teacher+who+has+used+macaroni+with+her+students+to+make+an+art+project+with+a+discussion+on+macaroni+and+how+it+could+be+part+of+a+healthy+diet%2e+She+then+had+her+students+take+their+projects+outside+and+using+their+projects+as+guides%2c+asked+the+children+to+shape+their+bodies+to+form+some+of+the+macaroni+shapes+they+included%2e++Thanks+for+the+question%2e
