Once you have started taking pictures you will want to store and save them on your computer. The camera will come with a cable or dock, but the card readers make the process much easier. The card reader connects to the computer via a USB port and becomes another disk drive. So all you need to do is remove the storage card from the camera, insert the card into the reader and access the images via the computer. The card reader allows for transfer of images from the storage card to the computer file and you can also use the card reader to delete images from the storage card.
