Skill Development:
Muscle of the week:
- Triceps-
- Introduce "push-up."
- Can go on their knees, or toes as long as their back is
flat.

stronger.
- Try to create an "earthquake" in their arms, where their
arms actually start to shake.
Skill Development:

- Introduce catching.
- "What do hands have to do to catch a ball over your head?"
- Make a diamond with hands (thumbs and index fingers
in).
- "What do your hands have to do to catch a ball below your
shoulders?"
- Make a basketwith hands (thumbs and index fingers
out).
- Repeat throw and catch with partner.
- Start together, face to face with partner.
- Every time you catch, move back one step
- "How far can you get apart?"
Application:
- Throw away
- Divide class in half, each person has a ball.
- On signal, each team tries to throw all footballs to the
other side.
- On whistle, each team gets one point for each ball on the
other side of the gym.
- Try to beat team's previous score to "win" round.
- If any team throws a ball after the whistle, the other team
gets all the points.
- *Stress proper technique
*Any ball that is caught, before it touches the ground = 1 point
for the catcher.
- *Stop game part way through to have kids take their pulse (for
:06, then add a "0" to the number to get beats/minute).
- Anyone who's heart rate is within the target range (150-180)
are told that they are playing the game the right speed.
- *Does this make this game "aerobic?"
