The
beginning of a new year is a great time to resolve to learn more
about disability sport winter opportunities available across the
United States for kids with disabilities. The purpose of this month's
section is to provide you with healthy options for a variety of
these winter opportunities.
The activities and events listed in this section are
not meant to be exhaustive by any means, but to provide just a glimpse
into all that is available. These links provide a base of ideas
for adapted physical education teachers, adapted physical activity
professors, and parents and kids with disabilities to see how you
might get involved in disability sports in your local area.
Please contact the providers listed here for more information about
their programs and events in your area.

I recently watched video footage of a Paralympic volleyball event. I was very impressed by the game and began to wonder how could I incorporate this into my physical education classes. I shall soon be starting my student teaching and I would love to hear any suggestions or ideas on how I might achieve this. Please post
in the forum.
