 Editorial

Did I Speak to Soon?

Last week I provided a brief editorial titled 'Exciting Times'. Within the editorial and the PELINKS4U sections, we noted many exciting events, articles, and ideas within the field of Physical Education. Included in the last publication was information about the funding of the PEP Bill, the physical activity report to the President, and many other bits of supportive information toward quality Physical Education. Thus, I concluded that we were experiencing pretty exciting times.

However, just when it appeared that Physical Education was being supported across the country and making a comeback within education, disturbing news rears its ugly head. Be sure to read the article concerning Physical Education in Massachusetts. Quite disconcerting news amidst many positive efforts in support of Physical Education. In order to ensure that these will continue to be exciting times, we must continue to work together to provide quality programs worth supporting.

PELINKS4U continues to work toward providing you with information concerning many subjects within the realm of Physical Education. As the readership extends to an average of 600 visits per day we have added book reviews to our already large plate of information. Last week, two book reviews were provided by our Book Review Section Editor, Scott Mellville. If you missed these book reviews, look in the archives. This week's book review by Nanci Coolen examines the book 'Psychology for Physical Educators'.

Additionally this week, you will find a variety of teaching ideas, strategies for improving health in children, and receptiveness to training to name just a few of topics.

I guess that even though we may continue to see setbacks throughout the country, a vast number of our professionals will work to continue to support the future of quality Physical Education. Please let us know how PELINKS4U can contribute further toward this effort.
